Koala Bar

Koala Bar is an indie pop band from Malmö, Sweden, blending acoustic warmth with electronic textures to create a sound that is both intimate and expansive. Formed in 2015 by Axel and Jonatan, the duo originally set out to create music that was reflective, atmospheric, and deeply connected to nature. Over time, the band expanded to include Petter on bass and synths and Olof on drums and synths, adding new layers of depth and energy to their evolving sound.

With influences ranging from the ethereal textures of Bon Iver and the introspective lyricism of The National to the genre-blurring experimentation of Alt-J, Koala Bar crafts songs that invite listeners to step into a world where the organic and the electronic coexist in perfect harmony.

In March 2025, the band is set to release their new EP, a project that sees them collaborate with renowned pianist and producer Leon den Engelsen. This EP delves deeper into their unique blend of acoustic and electronic elements, exploring the themes of nature, growth, and the delicate balance between humanity and the environment. Koala Bar’s music is not just a soundtrack but a journey—one that seeks to remind us of our connection to the natural world and the beauty found in its ever-changing rhythms.
