Put on the headphones. Turn up the volume. Hit ‘play’ and close your eyes. Let the groove fill your head. A little scrappy, a little edgy, and a whole lot of attitude. The Camerawalls are back with a new single, “Boys in the Backroom.” When last we heard from these boys, they had embarked in [...]
Lilystars Records proudly presents “Above the Weather,” the first major concert of The Camerawalls after a four-year hiatus. Backed by the strength and beauty of a 16-piece string orchestra, the thought-provoking melodies of indie pop revisionists The Camerawalls will fill the Music Museum on March 15, 2017. After putting in time at the studio following Pamagdoy, their five-city tour of the Visayas last April -- The Camerawalls is packing up their instruments again and following that irresistible desire to travel, this time to the backpacker's haven of Southeast Asia. "Wanderlust: The Camerawalls South-East Asian Backpack Tour" kicks off in a dezpedida ("fare thee well") gig in the Philippines, then rolls on the offbeat path to a string of watering holes in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand -- each locale a vital component to the Philippine-based band's musical odyssey.
Indie pop band The Camerawalls is releasing its latest digital single -- "Wanderlust" -- today, August 8, in anticipation of their very first regional tour, dubbed "Wanderlust: The Camerawalls South-East Asian Backpack Tour," later this month. In an unprecedented move, the band will be donating seventy-five percent (75%) of the digital sales of the single for the months of August and September (roughly the duration of their tour) to aid victims of the recent floods in the Philippines, most especially the waterlogged capital of Metro Manila and its outlying areas.
The Camerawalls performs this April in five cities in the Visayas – one city for every year that the band has been making music. Dubbed “Pamagdoy” (a word that means “wandering” or “peregrination” in both Cebuano and Ilongo), the tour is produced and presented by Lilystars Records in partnership with Panay News, the largest newspaper in the Visayas.
Last month at the Ayala Museum, Your Imaginary Friends (YIF) kicked-off The Gentle Isolation’s EP launch by being the first act to perform in the first event for The POP Shoppe!
