Wanderlust Single + SEA Tour Launch Party

You didn't expect The Camerawalls to go on tour with nary a goodbye or farewell party, did you? Pinoys and Spanish host a despedida, the Germans pull off an abschiedsfete, but yes, before the band takes off to satiate their wanderlust, they're kicking up some dust first -- and everyone's invited! Pen & Ink Manila, in partnership with Lilystars Records and Requiem Rising Singapore, is staging "WanderLust: The Camerawalls Single + SEA Tour Launch Party," on Monday, Aug. 20, at Quantum Cafe (Kamagong cor. Bagtikan Sts., Makati City).

Four Years of POP!

Lilystars Records marks the 4th year of its creation and advocacy of fine indie pop music with an anniversary party on April 13, Friday, at AMOS Cafe in Quezon City. Asked about his thoughts on the label's 4 years, label manager and The Camerawalls frontman, Clementine, said, "I can remember Johan Angergard* (Labrador, Club 8, Acid House Kings) telling me it takes around four years for an indie label to really make anything. I'm looking forward to that."

Everything Is Fine (Filipino Indiepop Scene)

In support for the growing pop scene in the country, Lilystars Records contributed tracks from The Camerawalls, The Gentle Isolation and Your Imaginary Friends to be included in a free download compilation album featuring Filipino indiepop bands old and new. This is made possible by SEA Indie in cooperation with Popscene Manila, Number Line Records and lots of indie bands in and out of the country. Truly a perfect Christmas present to the global P!O!P! community showcasing local talents from the Philippines.

“B” Is For Bacharach

Our recent tribute event for The POP Shoppe! featured some of the works of Burt Bacharach, which unbeknownst to many is one of most popular and respected songwriter. A lot of his songs have been sung, covered and continously being revived by well known singers, musicians and bands. Burt F. Bacharach (born May 12, 1928) [...]

The POP Shoppe! Christmas Special

Was able to compile short clips from our pre-Christmas gathering at The POP Shoppe! in Cafe Saguijo. Our guest bands include Carnival Park (indie pop band from Valenzuela City) and The Edralins (a pop act who came all the way from Baguio City). Everyone covered a mandatory Christmas tune. Songs covered in the video (in sequence): [...]
