The Geeks started as a four-piece indie band based in Quezon City, Philippines with vocalist/guitarist Jam Lorenzo, drummer Brian Sangco, guitarist Nigel Cristobal, and bassist Mags Borbon. They are known for their unique hybrid of sounds combining different genres like slacker rock, indie pop, sad bastard, and surf-inspired music.
The band has been producing and releasing EP albums since 2013. They have made three EP albums already even before they were signed under the Lilystars Records. Their latest and first release under the label is called ‘The First Time’, which came out on September 25, 2020. This single is very true to the band’s brand of happy/sad melancholia with its slow dance tune and a more prominent surf music vibe.
