The first of a number of guitar pop singles, Ctrl + Esc is the landmark release of Bacolod City’s happy-go-lucky indie popsters under the name Project Orange. It all started with a home recording demo released in 2018 that made waves with college students in their home province, which eventually led to a buzz in the Manila indie scene. This 2019 studio version is their first proper release under Lilystars Records. The mid-tempo groove is infectious, with Diana Mapa’s delicate voice and lyricism suggesting playful coquetry to lose control, like youngsters do.

Project Orange is a four-piece Indie/Dream Pop Band based in Bacolod City, Philippines. The musicians started out as a group of young-ins whose friendship thrived by their love for music. Composed of Diana “Moose” Mapa (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Mari Pillado (Lead Guitar), Martin Garces (Bass) & Miggs San Miguel (Drums), they are currently working on a full length album.

It’s rare to encounter a group like them in the Negros Islands. Expect more exciting pop releases from Project Orange in the months to come!
