If 1960‘s German singer Nico was reincarnated as the love child of Johnny Cash with a touch of 1950s Doo-Wop in 21st Century San Francisco’s Bay Area, that child would be singer Yea-Ming Chen, backed by an assortment of talented, fun-loving musicians.

Lilystars Records is pleased to introduce these American indie minstrels with the release of an exlusive single, Sign On My Window, a charming, timeless waltz about love and loss. The simple tune compliments and lays bare the heartbreak in the lyrics. Melancholy but danceable, Yea-Ming and The Rumours put a sweet spin on this breakup song that anyone who has loved and lost will connect with.

This single comes with a bonus B-Side, Let Me Stand Close to the Water. This wistful, introspective tune calls to mind a more innocent time; carefree summer afternoons from years gone by. A somewhat bittersweet ballad, it is perfect for reflective moments of times gone by.

Solo or backed by a band, Chen can be heard along the West Coast as Yea-Ming and The Rumours (so-named for the Fleetwood Mac album), having performed in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and the Davis area in California. Over her career, she has played shows with Calvin Johnson, Paul Collins, Greg Ashley, Gris Gris, The Mantles, The Dodos, Forrest Day, Bart Davenport, Nobunny, Peach Kelli Pop, the Moore Brothers and more. Having been in bands since age 18, she performed for about 10 years with her best friend Anna Hillburg as Dreamdate. The two have recorded three albums.
