“Florianópolis is an album to be listened to more with the heart than with the head; it celebrates the possibility of living a fantasy that make us forget an overrated reality,” says this fantasy’s creator, Sebastián Litmanovitch. The 11th full-length album from Sebastián’s brainchild, Cineplexx is available in the Philippines from Lilystars Records under license by Nuevahola Records on April 7th.
Different from his previous albums, it showcases for the first time the disco and latin rhythms of Sebastián’s childhood spent listening to ABBA and brazilian boleros on his parents’ car radio. This cocktail of sounds – disco, bossa, afrofunk, electrónica, pop – transports listeners to a magical island where they might find Ariel Pink dancing with Rita Lee to the sounds of Tom Jobim, Prince or Fela Kuti. In this particular album guest vocalists (Linda Mirada, Natalia Clavier (Thievery Corporation & Federico Aubele), Lilies On Mars and Ana Montiel) add a sensual and playful flavour to the sound with a little touch of Rafaella Carra or Chic. The 13 songs are in Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese, all composed, produced and performed by this multi-talented world citizen, born in Argentina now living in London via New York and Barcelona.
Composed, produced and performed by Sebastián Litmanovich. Recorded and Engineered by Kenneth Brake at Portatile Room Mobile and Regal Lane Studios (London). Mix by S. Litmanovich at Portatile Room Mobile (London). Mastering by Martín Litmanovich at Ton Estudio (Buenos Aires). Art, photos and design by Ana Montiel (London)
